Welcome to Curiosity Power Labs LLC (“CPL LLC”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of all digital products, apps, and websites developed by CPL LLC, including but not limited to the ScreenHugs application (collectively, the “Services”).

By downloading, accessing, or using any part of the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use our Services.

1. Eligibility and Accounts

Our Services are intended for use by parents or legal guardians. Children are not permitted to create their own accounts. All user accounts must be created and managed by a parent or legal guardian who is at least 18 years old. Parents may create profiles for their children to personalize content experiences, but these profiles are for organizational purposes only and not used for advertising, tracking, or analytics.

2. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Services only for lawful purposes. You shall not:

  • Use the Services in any way that violates applicable law or regulations;

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Services or related systems;

  • Copy, reproduce, distribute, or publicly display any part of the Services without our express written consent;

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any software used in connection with the Services;

  • Use the Services for any commercial or advertising purpose without prior written authorization.

3. Intellectual Property

All content, designs, code, trademarks, and other intellectual property associated with the Services are the exclusive property of CPL LLC or its licensors and are protected under applicable copyright, trademark, and other laws. No right, title, or interest is transferred to you as a result of using our Services. You may not use our trademarks or copyrighted materials without prior written permission.

Use of the Services is subject to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference into these Terms. Please review it carefully to understand our practices concerning your information.

5. Disclaimers

Our Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind. CPL LLC disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including without limitation implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CPL LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of the Services. Your sole and exclusive remedy for dissatisfaction with the Services is to stop using them.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CPL LLC, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or in any way connected with your use of the Services or your violation of these Terms.

We use industry-standard security practices, including encryption of data in transit and at rest, secure authentication protocols, and limited access to personal data. In the event of a data breach that may affect your personal information, we will notify you in accordance with applicable laws.

9. Modifications to the Terms

We may revise these Terms at any time to reflect changes in our services, legal obligations, or operational practices. Material changes include, but are not limited to:

10. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be resolved exclusively through binding arbitration conducted in Illinois in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association. You agree to waive any right to a jury trial or to participate in a class action.

Privacy Policy

Curiosity Power Labs LLC (“CPL LLC”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you use our apps and services, including but not limited to the ScreenHugs app and any other current or future products developed by CPL LLC (collectively, the “Services”).

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum amount of personal information necessary to provide and support our Services. This includes:

  • Parent or guardian email address

  • Display name

  • Device ID (for login and support functionality)

  • Optional child profile data (e.g., first name or nickname, birthdate), which is voluntarily entered by the parent

We do not collect data through cookies or third-party trackers. However, we may collect limited automatic information (such as device model, OS version, and app version) strictly for diagnostic, security, or performance purposes.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To provide and maintain the functionality of our Services

  • To support user accounts and customer inquiries

  • To improve app performance and user experience

We do not use children’s information for advertising, profiling, or behavioral nudging. We do not display or facilitate third-party ads.

3. Third-Party Services

We do not sell or rent personal information to third parties. We may share data with trusted third-party service providers (e.g., Firebase, Google Cloud) who help us operate and maintain the Services. These partners are contractually obligated to protect user data and comply with applicable privacy laws.

For users in the European Union, we process personal data based on:

We comply with COPPA, GDPR, and the UK Children’s Code. Only parents or legal guardians may create accounts and input information about children. We do not collect data directly from children and do not permit children to create or manage accounts.

9. Marketing Communications

We may occasionally contact account holders (i.e., parents or guardians) by email with information related to new features, titles, seasonal content, or promotional upgrades. These messages:

  • Are only sent to registered account holders

  • Do not include third-party advertising

  • Never target children

You can opt out at any time by clicking “unsubscribe” or contacting support.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify account holders via email or through the app. Continued use of the Services after updates indicates acceptance of the new policy.
